The marriage of Paul and Linda McCartney began in a London registry office on March 12, 1969. "Just write that the bride wore a big smile," Mrs. McCartney told one reporter.
And everyone said it would never last.
But it did...until April 17,1998 when Linda McCartney passed away with her adoring husband and their children by her side.
In a statement by Paul shortly after her death in part he said "I am privileged to have been her lover for 30 years, and in all that time, except for one enforced absence, we never spent a single night apart. She was unique, and the world is a better place for having known her. As a mother, she was the best. We always said that all we wanted for the kids was that they would grow up to have good hearts, and they have. Her message of love will live on in our hearts forever.
I love you, Linda."
May we all remember Paul and their children in our prayers, and find comfort in their ultimate commitment of love for one another.

"If people ask me what our secret is, well, it's quite simple. Although guys are not meant to say this, I guess it's because we just adore each other." ~Paul McCartney
"We do those little things you do when you're first dating ... going to the theater or just walking hand in hand through the fields. How many married couples of 30 years standing do you know who wander about holding hands?"
~Linda McCartney in an interview when their children had grown and left home
"They were the ultimate soulmates, but throughout their married life they were like each other's twin." ~Geoff Baker, McCartney Aide
"I will hold you for as long as you like
I'll hold you for the rest of my life
Always looking for ways to love you
Never failing to fight at your side."
